Dwayne De Rosario On Toronto FC's Playoff Hopes
Toronto FC currently sit third in the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference with a record of 7-8-5. TFC will be looking to get back on track at BMO Field against after suffering their first home defeat of the season to the New York Red Bulls on the 21st August. Defender Emmanuel Gomez is still out following a Right Knee Injury. Forward Maicon Santos is still doubtful due to a sprained left knee whilst Amadou Sanyang is still fighting to recover from concussion like symptoms.
Toronto FC`s captain and Canadian International De Rosario has not hidden away that the clubs poor form is currently down to the players and they will need to pick themselves up. Injuries have not helped but it is De Rosario`s duty to get the team to gel again.
Real Salt Lake are unbeaten in 5 games heading into Saturday`s match. Real Salt Lake are having a fine season and currently sit second in the Western Conference on 39 points. Real Salt Lake are only 4 points behind leaders Los Angeles Galaxy and given Toronto`s poor form and injuries as of late, they have a great chance to close the gap. Head coach Jason Kreis will likely choose to field a team of first team players and give a few of the reserve team a run out after his team lost 5-4 to Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions League on Wednesday. Real Salt Lake have no serious injury concerns with defender Jamison Olave, Striker Robbie Findley, and defender Chris Schuler all recovering from knocks.
Midfielder Andy Williams has been at the club since the start and scored on Wednesday in RSL`s CONCACAF Champions league defeat, The Toronto born Williams will be looking to beat his hometown team effectively ending any chances of TFC reaching the playoffs.
Toronto FC lost to Real Salt Lake 2-1 earlier on in the season at Rio Tinto Stadium. Jamison Olave and Andy Williams scored for Real Salt Lake whilst Dwayne De Rosario scored for The Reds.
Toronto FC have a great home record but also have many injuries, With Real Salt Lake likely fielding a weakend team TFC have a chance but we see it ending 1-1.
