Toronto FC have confirmed that Dwayne De Rosario will return to the club after his trial ends today after turning down a request from Celtic to keep the player longer.
De Rosario sparked outrage back in Ontario after it emerged he had joined the Scottish Premier League club without permission from the league or from Toronto FC.
De Rosario has spent the last three weeks on trial at the Scottish giants and played last week against Hibs in a reserve match.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon requested to keep the TFC captain at Celtic however new TFC manager Aron Winter turned down the request flat saying he wanted his captain to report to pre-season training.
De Ro`s trial ends today and Paul Mariner has already indicated he wishes to discuss De Rosario`s contract when he returns however, it was not known whether TFC will make him a designated player, a position De Rosario has previously said he wants.
